Amy Rickett

School Psychologist, Ludlow Public Schools

Dr. Amy Rickett is a practicing Nationally Certified School Psychologist with 11 years of public school experience. She currently works in a suburban school community in Western Massachusetts, following 9 years of service in Connecticut. She completed her Masters and 6th year training at Fairfield University, and obtained her doctorate in School Psychology from William James College in May 2020, with a specialization in assessment and intervention for youth engaging in fire-setting behavior. Her doctoral research studied differences in motivational profiles of youth who set fires, specifically examining the role of anxiety. Her extended professional interests include mindfulness in educational settings, mindfulness as social/emotional intervention for youth, community involvement in mental health awareness, cross-agency collaboration and individualized crisis assessment and intervention.

 

In addition to her service as a School Psychologist, Amy has also provided services in clinical and residential psychiatric settings with highly marginalized and underserved youth with a specialized focus on evaluating and addressing the needs of youth engaging in low-incidence, high-risk behavior.

 

Amy has been involved in state association leadership and advocacy efforts, has served as an adjunct professor at Fairfield University, has provided practicum/internship supervision at her school-based sites and has served as guest lecturer at various universities for both graduate and undergraduate psychology courses.
