Erika (she, her, ella) is in her 3rd year in the PhD School Psychology program at Howard University. She currently works as a school therapist at Noyes Elementary School in DC through a community partner clinic called Hillcrest Children and Family Center. Her school psychology supervisor at Noyes, Dr. Peagler, is also a Howard Alumn and is training Erika in culturally responsive assessments. Erika plans to continue to provide bilingual social emotional direct services to culturally and linguistically diverse students in the DC area. Regarding research, she has interests in psychological services for school-age Black girls—especially as it pertains to disrupting and eradicating issues of discipline disproportionality of Black girls' in schools—and adding to social justice work in school psychology.
