Supporting Diverse Learners With Dyslexia Through an Ecological Perspective



This presentation will examine the usefulness of the ecological perspective for providing reading intervention that goes beyond academic support for culturally and linguistically diverse youth with dyslexia.

  • understand various systems in the Bronfenbrenner's ecological systems theory that impact diverse learner's educational outcomes; and
  • recognize the significance of consultation and collaboration with parents, school staff, and community to improve supports for diverse learners with reading difficulties.
